My principal research interests are in the ecology and conservation
of British, native species. My PhD considered the dispersal,
survival, population size and habitat requirements of two
rare species of damselfly and informed conservation management
plans. Since then I have become interested in the role of
habitat structure and composition in conservation management
and the application of predictive modelling and GIS techniques
to conservation ecology issues. I am now working on burning-biodiversity
relationships with a view to developing practical moorland
management tools.
