Process-based models

In collaboration with Dr Robin Pakeman we have developed a model based on the growth cycle of bracken that can be used to predict the outcome of bracken control treatments and the effects of climate change on a UK wide basis. We have combined this model with a further model, which predicts the outcome of bracken control treatment on vegetation succession after treatment.

Model output for UK

  Model output for U.K. Climate

All models have some independent test to establish their validity.
